Beyond the Ranges

Board Threads Posts Last Post
No New Posts The Summit

The peak of the closest mountain in the Sky Mountain Range, the Summit is a steep climb onto a very small peak - only big enough for three horses to stand safely on. Here, there is a grand view of the five ranges, and a clear, breathtaking sight of the vast sky. Horses, most often leaders and stargazers, come here to speak with the Herd of the Spangled Sky.

No New Posts The Solitary Tree

The Solitary Tree stands on a high hill in the center of the herds' ranges. It is a giant birch tree, and no horse or even legend knows how old it is. Every full moon, a meeting is held under its ancient branches.

No New Posts The Salt Cavern

A semi-hidden limestone cavern with a steep and dangerous entrance passageway, the Salt Cavern is a place only experienced horses travel to. Yet it harbors an essential mineral for the horses - salt, which must be gathered regularly to sustain the herds.

No New Posts The Riders' Ring

Riders and their tamed mounts circle this dusty ring during the daytime, and sometimes venture out of it into herd ranges. Horses have been known to be rounded up and harnessed, even tamed, so unless you are careful and have a will of steel, don't venture too close.

Herd of the Sparkling Falls

Board Threads Posts Last Post
No New Posts The Waterfall

The Waterfall is at the center of The Herd of the Sparkling Falls' range, and is what they get their name from. Crystal-clear waters drop from precarious heights into a clearish-turquoise pool at the bottom full of fish, sending billowing clouds of mist into the air.

No New Posts The Poppy Fields

The Poppy Field is a small field that harbors many flowers. It is safe, for it is near the middle of the range, far away from enemies. At the end of spring, the poppies bloom and turn the whole field orange. Foals and their mothers come here for some peace and quiet - if you can get that with a foal.

Herd of the Misted Mountains

No New Posts The Mountains

The Mountains are the very heart of The Herd of the Misted Mountains, and the herd's name comes from them. The peaks are snow-covered in the winter, and green in the summer, with a constant misty collection of clouds hanging over them.

No New Posts Winter Range

The winter range of the Herd of the Misted Mountains is similar to their northern range, but there are no mountains. The herd compensates slightly by occupying the highest ground.

Herd of the Wandering River

No New Posts The River

The namesake of the Herd of the Wandering River and the center of their range, the river is constantly meandering and curving. It's waters are crystal clear, with small pebbles lining its bottom. The river runs into the Herd of the Sparkling Falls' territory and becomes the waterfall.

The Herd of the Wandering River's winter range also contains the continuation of the same river as the one that flows through the herds in their northern ranges, and the two terrains are also similar.

Herd of the Golden Plains

No New Posts The Plains

The plains are in the middle of the Herd of the Golden Plains' range, and is what they are named after. The plains stretch 'till what seems like the eye's end, and glow golden during all seasons but winter, when it is covered in shimmering snow and is equally astonishing.

Herd of the Cursed Forest

Board Threads Posts Last Post
No New Posts The Forest

The Herd of the Cursed forest is named after and spend most of their time in the Forest, a dense, dark range of trees in which hardly a bird sings, and glows a sickly silver when the moon is full. This is slightly unnatural for horses, who often live in more open areas, but the Herd of the Cursed Forest likes the seclusion and know the dark forest's deep and winding passageways well.

The ancestors of the herds ascend to the Herd of the Spangled Sky to watch over the still living horses, and the sky is their predominant territory. These starry steeds are believed to control the movement of the stars, and send prophesies to the Stargazers through them.
